Why Stella Line for Venezuela cargo
Venezuela is among the most demanding trades in the region — limited carrier options, a real sanctions environment, and local conditions that reward experience. It is also our specialty. Stella Line has worked the Gulf and Caribbean since 2012, and we focus on the Venezuela corridor because we understand both the commercial routing and the compliance discipline these lanes require.
We arrange tonnage through our network of brokers and vessel owners for one-time spot shipments and longer-term commitments alike — containers, break-bulk and project / heavy-lift cargo.
Ports we serve in Venezuela
Puerto Cabello
Estado Carabobo — Venezuela's largest commercial port, handling containers, bulk, break-bulk and project cargo.
La Guaira
The main port serving Caracas — containers and general cargo for the capital region.
Typical origins include Houston and the U.S. Gulf, Miami and Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades), the U.S. North East, and Mexico (Altamira, Veracruz). Direct sailings are limited; many moves route via transshipment through Curaçao or Kingston, with transit times of 10–18 days.
OFAC compliance — how our process works
Commercial shipping from the U.S. to Venezuela is subject to active U.S. Treasury OFAC sanctions. Cargo is not categorically prohibited, but every shipment must clear a compliance process before it can be booked:
- Full SDN (Specially Designated Nationals) screening of shipper, consignee, notify party and cargo
- No shipments to government-owned or controlled entities without a specific OFAC license
- Restricted USD payment channels with Venezuelan counterparties
- Complete booking details submitted up front — no blind bookings
All Venezuela cargo is subject to independent OFAC compliance review and carrier pre-approval before any booking is confirmed. Allow 3–5 business days for compliance processing. Stella Line strongly recommends that customers obtain independent legal and sanctions-compliance counsel, and does not itself provide legal or sanctions-compliance advice.
